Industrial-academic Co-operation of Technical University and Automobile Industry in Taiwan
Abstract
This study discusses a successful case of industrial-academic cooperation involving the technical university and the Ford Motor Company in Taiwan. The cooperation involved the exchange technical skills via industry-academic cooperation. Both sides have been cooperating since 1991. This study describes the process of how the cooperation was initiated with a small project, the interactions between the two parties and the increasing cooperation. This study also describes the policies and methods used to establish a lasting relationship and ensure mutual trust between the parties involved, as well as describing the benefits obtained by both sides. This study hopes to provide a good example to local or overseas technical industry institutions by using this successful case of industrial-academic cooperation to provide background, experiences, methods and results that can assist in developing future cooperation plans.
