The etiology of this condition is multifaceted, influenced by a plethora of genetic and environmental determinants. Notably, certain risk factors and predictive markers associated with ASCVD may already present or emerge during the prenatal or neonatal period. Early recognition of these markers is pivotal in identifying an individual's vulnerability to ASCVD, enabling timely interventions that can effectively mitigate risks or impede disease progression. This review paper endeavors to delve into the distinct markers of susceptibility to atherosclerosis specifically observed in human fetuses, shedding light on their diagnostic and prognostic significance. By scrutinizing these markers in the context of prenatal development, novel insights can be gleaned regarding the early origins and potential predictive value of atherosclerotic predisposition, thereby paving the way for innovative preventive strategies and personalized healthcare interventions.
